Calling all future performers
COVID-19 UPDATE:
Due to current events, we we're not able to run camp as usual and offered a virtual camp instead. We're hoping we can go back to normal in time for summer 2021
First Position Community Camps are Pay What You Can (PWYC) dance and theatre camps sponsored by First Position Dance Academy. Thanks to the studio and outside donors we are able to offer PWYC DANCE AND THEATRE CAMPS every summer. The studio suggests a donation of $10-$20 per students however we will accept a minimum of $5 if that's what your budget allows. We hope to be able to offer more camps over the winter holidays in the future. We believe that everyone should have access to dance and performance opportunities. We also like to give back to our community and hope these camps can provide a positive and fun experience for local youths. These camps are the perfect chance to see if your child is a good fit for dance based activities.

Volunteers
We always appreciate anyone who is willing to volunteer during these camps. We look for enthusiastic, responsible people with a passion for the performing arts. Candidates must love children, have leaderships skills and willing to offer between 20 - 35 hours when they volunteer with us. If the volunteer is a teen student of First Position Dance Academy, we can offer a discount as a thank you!
FIRST STEPS TO THE STAGE
Suggested for ages 7-12

No experience required - not only will you dance, sing and act but you'll learn about costumes, props and everything theatre! You'll leave with a camp shirt, any props you've made and hopefully a group of new friends.

MINI DANCE CAMP
Suggested for ages 3-6

These half day camps are designed to teach the absolute basics of dance to toddlers. A great way to see if your child is ready to sign up for a full term of ballet, jazz or tap classes. They will learn through games, activities as well as basic dance lessons. You'll leave with a camp shirt, any crafts made and a love for dance.

REGISTRATION FOR SUMMER CAMPS IS NOW CLOSED.
Registration for our camps will re-open in Mid-March 2021. A completed registration form and PWYC donation is required to secure your spot. If you have questions, reach out to us anytime. We can only take 15 students per camp and our spots are first come first served.
Cancellations: If you cancel, we require 2 weeks notice prior to the first day of camp for your donation to be returned. Your donation cannot be returned if you do not complete camp, you do not show up to camp, or you cancel within the 2 weeks prior to the camp start date. An exception may be offered if we are able to fill the space before the first day of camp.
